I started taking an observational drawing class on Monday downtown at MICA. I am really enjoying the class and the teacher. All the students are very talented and they have been helping me to look at things in a more than one way.
I am currently working on a still-life filled with glass bottles and a cow skull. I will post it up here when it is completed to my standards. Keep on the look-out for new art in my Artwork and Sketches page.

SUMMMMER

Summer has officially begun. These are a few things I associate with summer.

Snoball stands packed with kids
Bike riders on congested streets.
Floral prints paired with sandals.
Aviators and wayfarers fill the pages of magazines.
Sunkissed skin in the warm June sun.
Summer.

Yesterday:

Jhall and I went to take pictures around her neighborhood. It was a perfect day outside, I cannot get over this weather. We didn't have much time, but we're planning on going to the park tomorrow to take some more shots after school...I'll put them up on here when we finish shooting. I can't believe the weekend is already here, it's been such a short week!

And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I'll love you more

Burning Hot Weekend

It was in the nineties all weekend; a little too hot for me. I'm currently searching for new inspiration. I did a lot of sketching/illustrating this weekend. I am still working on finishing those illustrations for the children's books. Almost done: three down, one more book to go.

Summer is so close I can taste it. Can't wait. And the countdown begins...
